With carefully selected quotes to start each chapter, CJ James provokes the reader to ponder spiritual and universal themes of redemption, love and friendship as the story unfolds.
With vivid descriptions of each region, one learns of the nature of the different peoples and lands. Each character has unique decisions and struggles that are never trivialized, but is given proper perspective as guidance is sought and hope and peace are possible in the Valley of Machtando.
Once the necessary background is given on lands and relationships, the story moves quickly and the story lines merge together for a fitting conclusion to this "chapter". However, the announcement of another new causes the reader to eagerly await the next installment.
